Kurama Fire Festival – Kyoto – Black Mug
The Kurama Fire Festival: giant pine torches blazing in the night before the Niomon gate, on both sides of a glossy black ceramic mug.
Every October 22 the village of Kurama fills with fire and chanting for the Kurama no Hi-matsuri, one of Kyoto's most famous festivals.
Drawn from my own photographs from more than 80 visits to Mount Kurama, where I lead group and private tours. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Printed on demand and shipped to you.
